Rivers poll: Avenue to re-invent PDP by jettisoning selfish leadership- Olujimi
Minority Leader of the 8th Senate, and Southwest leader of PDP, Senator Biodun Olujimi has felicitated with the Rivers State Governor-elect, Gov. Iyesom Wike on his re-election for the second term in office as the Executive Governor of Rivers State.
Olujimi said this while addressing newsmen on Wednesday during her visit to the Brick House at Old GRA, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
She said; “Victory at last. Its so fulfilling being in the midst of our victorious brothers and sisters of the PDP, in Rivers state.
“We were pleasantly shocked when we got to Port Harcourt today’s evening to find them in the Government House chapel, praising God with soulful songs.
“Such pleasant surprise. Who will believe a Lion like Gov. Wike will be so soft as to sing praises with others on a day of such indescribable tension.
“The election took its toll. You can see it in the eyes, mien and lean frames of everyone there, but you could also see enthusiasm, fulfillment, joy and love for each other big and small.
“The Governor threw banters and everyone shared and laughed as jokes rented the air on our way to view the fireworks. The National Chairman was lost greeting and thanking everyone. We saw the enormous power in humility, honesty of purpose, total, unabashed unity, love of fellow party men and committed leadership.
“This is the time for PDP to reinvent itself by jettisoning selfish leadership to build a strong political brand and a legacy of togetherness, commitment and love of fatherland.
“I salute all those who made the Rivers project a reality. I salute Governor Wike, the force, that bound all of them to the cause. I thank PDP for a good name and again bless God for sweet victory. PDP, our best is yet to come. God loves us still. Let us move on rapidly to reclaim Nigeria. God bless Rivers state! God bless PDP! God bless Nigeria!”
