Oyo Guber Race: We Remain In ADC Says Unity Forum

The breakaway faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Oyo State chapter popularly called Unity Forum has debunked the alleged return to the ruling party.

The group made declaration on Wednesday at a special reunion meeting organized by the political disciples of late former Governor Alh. Lamidi Onaolapa Adesina in the African Democratic Congress, ADC at Felele, Ibadan.

Welcoming the teeming proponents of the political doctrine fondly hailed Lamists to the event, the host, Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina said the gathering was inevitable to review the activities and determine the way forward for the members of the group in the ongoing electoral seasons.

He relayed the extensive discussion had on behalf of the group with the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to the congregation where he maintained that the group is still unfavorable to the height of impunity of Governor Abiola Ajimobi and injustice that characterized the last congress of the state chapter.

Alhaji Isamosta Ashiru, an age long associate of former late Governor in his remarks stressed that Lam Adesina’s political family was averse to the tyrannical disposition of APC administration led by Ajimobi mostly the continued disdainful acts toward all and sundry identified with the ideologies.

He maintained that Lam Adesina’s followers across the 33 local government areas remain disinterested to the present configuration of the APC leadership in Oyo State.

Similarly, the members of Unity Forum has passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin.

The group sounded the decision after a unanimously resolution made at the reunion meeting which was held at Lam Adesina’s Hall, Felele, Ibadan.

The Lamists / Unity Forum said the enclave rigidly believes in the leadership of former Senator in leading the group to a promised land in the state political contests.

The communiqué issued at the end of the meeting was read by the Deputy Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulwasiu Musah where the ADC membership of Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina, Hon. Olusumbo Olugbemi, Hon. Michael Akintola, Hon. Abiodun Olasupo, many other State Assembly members and other prominent members of the group in a released made by the spokesman Dr Olatubosun Wasiu said the unity of the group remain valid and sacrosanct.

More so, the group denounced the purported adoption of the gubernatorial candidate of the APC, Adebayo Adelabu by an unknown group masquerading as Unity Forum and in the influence of Lam Adesina’s political lineage.

It was therefore contained in the statement that Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin’s decision over the anointment of Engr. Seyi Makinde of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the coalition candidate for the Saturday’s gubernatorial poll remains the Unity Forum’s choice.

The meeting was well attended by score of renowned political gladiators among whom are Alhaji Isamosta Ashiru, Prince Demola Hamzat(Iseyin), Alhaji Tajudeen Aliu Adetunji(Saki East), Alhaji Ladi Oluokun(Ibadan North East), Hon. Fatai Salam, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun,Hon. Debo Ogunniran(Lagelu), Alhaji Adebayo Wahab Adewale(Saki East), Hon. Adekunle Rafiu, Hon. Bolaji Badmus, Hon. Ganiyi Ayesoro etc.
