The African Democratic Congress, ADC candidate in Saturday National Assembly elections for Ibadan North West / South West Federal Constituency, Dr. Wasiu Adewale Olatubosun, has expressed his concerns over the conduct of the much anticipated polls.

He in view of the forthcoming election, he addressed a press conference at Nigerian Union of Journalist, NUJ, press centre, Iyaganku, on Wednesday.

Reeling out his activities and bond with the grassroots inhabitants since the commencement of the campaign outings, Olatubosun said he has successfully rooted over 350 communities and artisan groups across Ibadan North West / South West local government area in intimating and galvanizing support for his candidacy and party’s success.

He disclosed that the effort has afforded him to familiarize with different group of community organizations and feel the pulse of the people of which sheer lamentation on renege of election promises and marginalization among elected office holders tower high.

” My community reach has given me complementary clues to bolster my much enviable demand driven approach of governance in providing succours for the people as requested with the stipulated time frame if emerged winner, ” he vowed.

Baring his mind over the crass and antidemocratic disposition of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, government towards the opposition parties mostly few targeted figures, Olatubosun raised an alarm over the sinister plans of Abiola Ajimobi led administration to thwart the will of the people.

He decried the ignoble characterizations of many campaigners of APC mostly its gubernatorial candidate who has derived joy in harassing and maiming innocents residents of the state with armed thugs on his campaign events.

Olatubosun also lamented the series of uncovered mischievous plans being perfected by the APC government to rig the national assembly and gubernatorial elections in favor of some rejected candidates on the platform of the party.

Among the shenanigans he alleged the APC have perfected undue deployment of soldiers to harass, arrest and restrict opposition mobilizers ahead of the elections while harassment of eligible voters from the polling centre, scaring of opposition party’s agents away from the collation exercise from unit, ward and local government to pave way for their rigging plots also in the offing.

He called on President Mohammed Buhari, the chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, the Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu and others to act above board in salvaging our renascent democratic practice from repressive elements in the state with a well dispatched letter copied to several international agencies and communities.

Olatubosun therefore implored eligible voters across the 33 local government areas of the state to shun any form of intimidation from the ruling quarters by trooping out to cast and protect their votes on Saturday as their civic responsibility.

Meanwhile, more community and artisan groups were on Wednesday convinced for the aspirations of African Democratic Congress, ADC, and all its candidates in the ongoing electoral seasons.

Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, the candidate of the party for Ibadan North West / South West federal constituency made progress in canvassing residents of Johnson Awe, Apata, Igbo Traders’ Association, Oke Ado, Oke Bola and Oni and Son communities.

He at the different meeting highlighted the distinct programs of the party if elected by the good people to see out the next governorship in the state.

He assured the resilient dwellers and commercial operators of the those mentioned areas to distinguish themselves by voting him and all candidates of the party in Saturday national assembly elections and subsequently the gubernatorial elections that will be conducted on March 2 for Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin and state assembly candidates of ADC.
