Eagles Back In Training As Debate Rage On Among Players Over Rohr’s Tactics In Loss To Croatia
Players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria are back in training after the 0-2 loss to Croatia in their opening game of the World Cup 2018 in Russia, which leaves them bottom of their group.
Yesterday, the players who made cameo appearances in the Croatia game trained while the players heavily involved in the Saturday contest were given time off via a recovery session.
The loss to Croatia has sparked arguments among the players on the tactics used by coach of the team in the loss with many contesting the formation and deployment of personells during the game.
” We have been talking about the formation and how we were set up. The arguments hasn’t ended since the defeat because just like Nigerians, we are also bothered over the loss”, one of the player told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Another player of the team who also spoke on the condition of anonymity said Rohr and his technical crew approached the game correctly but the players failed to raise their game.
” People are complaining about the formation because we lost the game. But that is how we have been playing since the coming of Rohr. Errors which could have been avoided were made and that cost us the game”, he concluded.
