Akwa Ibom guber poll: God will frustrate evil plans next Saturday – Governor Udom Emmanuel

Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel has expressed the confidence that God will frustrate all evil plans hatched by desperate politicians to cause violence in the Saturday, March 9 polls

Emmanuel said the prayer on Friday during the New Month Covenant Service organized by Akwa Ibom State Government House on Friday with the theme, “By Strength shall no man prevail”

He maintained that threats to use violence, and federal might to intimidate Akwa Ibom electorates especially supporters of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP would be frustrated.

He said, “Some of you may not know that God frustrated all the vices and evil plans against us as a state. I know God is with us. All their evil plans last Saturday, God frustrated them.

“The same God that frustrated their evil plans last Saturday will frustrate them during the next Saturday governorship and State Assembly polls.

“God will give us peace by all means. God will not allow their evil plots to come to pass. I stand here to say Akwa Ibom people stand still and you shall see the Salvation of God”

Governor Emmanuel appreciated all men of God in the state for their continuous and steadfast prayers for the peace and progress of the state.

He thanked all that participated in the presidential and national Assembly polls even in the face of intimidation and provocation, stressing, “some of you were intimidated and did not come out to vote. God has assured us that there will be peace, so on March 9, you shall come out to vote”

The Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Prelate Sunday Mbang in closing prayer, thanked God for the last election and prayed for His continuous protection against any plot to cause mayhem and bloodshed in the governorship and State Assembly polls next Saturday.
